Labor of Love 

I firmly believe that inability or difficulty to pay should NEVER keep a woman from hiring a care provider if she wants one!

I offer:

• Free initial interview
• payment plans
• reduced rates for military, teenage, or low-income families
• bartering or trading services or goods
• partial service packages

Just ask me! I would rather work something out with you than have you go without a care provider. Some attendants have been paid with custom artwork, a concrete slab for a shed, and half a butchered pig. There are many “creative payment” options to think about.

These services also make a great gift from family and friends that wish they were there to help in the few weeks after you come home with your baby, but who are not able to. It would be a great shower gift, especially the postpartum care, which can be taylored and scheduled by the parents when the time comes.

I limit my birth commitments to 3-4 due dates per month. 

Midwifery services are $2,000. I require a deposit of $300 to put your due date on my calender. Should hospital transfer be necessary, there will be no refund.  I will do my best to provide care to my clients, inside the hospital as a doula/childbirth assistant, and once home again.

The fee for the full childbirth assistant services is $800, with a reduced rate (ID required) for military and teenagers (under 18) for $500. I require a deposit of $200.

Placenta services are $200. This includes transporting the placenta to my home where I will perform the procedures of your chosing, which may include : encapsulation, tincture, watercolor prints, dried cord keepsakes, and photographs. This service is to be determined and paid for before the birth.

All other payment arrangements to be discussed at initial interview.

Balances must be paid in full by 36 weeks. I accept cash and personal checks. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee and termination of service if not resolved immediately.

I can also provide postpartum care, as a doula, in addition to the full package or as postpartum care alone, at a  cost of $20/hour, for at least 3 hours, or for $350/week. These services are tailored on an individual basis. Payment is due on or before the day of service.

Overnight doula stays are also an option, 24 hours, at $100/night.

Need a childbirth assistant at the last minute? Feel free to call me, and if I am available to help, my fee would be $500. Last minute means I will be meeting you at the hospital with no prenatal visits. Payment is due in cash when I arrive to the hospital. I will care for you from then on, just as I do my prearranged clients, to include labor, birth, and 2 post partum visits.

If you wish to have assistance for labor and immediate postpartum only, the cost is $350. That means I meet you at the hospital, you pay me, and my job is complete when I leave you hours after the baby is born.

If you do not call me when you go into labor or have not informed me at least four weeks in advance  that you will not be using me during your birth, you will owe me my full fee, no refund, since I will have made myself unavailable to other potential clients as long as you are on my calendar.
